Folio is a luscious, superfine alpaca that feels as soft and luxurious as cashmere. This trans-seasonal yarn can be worked on a wide range of needle sizes and is a perfect choice for projects that flow, wrap, and drape.
There's just enough rayon added so that the alpaca won't pill or grow. It also lends a sheen and texture similar to silk. (Someone on Ravelry once described Folio as being "like clouds and cobwebs spun by fairies."
Folio has a sister yarn, Folio Luxe, which is the same Folio we know and love infused with glittering metallic strands, perfect for glamorous accessories.
Kate used Folio Luxe to knit up a sample of "Berta," a garter stitch lace shawl knit from the center out.
On the left is Kate's version in the color "Hydra," and to the right is Berroco's own version in the color "Orion."
We can really see how versatile Folio is weather-wise as you can use it for a summer tank or a thin evening sweater.
Minami is a relaxed fit tank top featuring a beautiful lace panel on the front and back.
Abatina is a garter stitch tunic with delicate lace framing the face, and side vents for a flattering silhouette.
Graphite is a beautiful a-line pullover knit seamlessly in the round from the bottom up.
And Alyssum is a long, lightweight cardigan with minimalist garter stitch details.
An incredibly luxurious cowl, Garden Orchid is knit in the round with a houndstooth pattern stitch. Greenland Sea is an airy triangle shawl featuring charted lace reminiscent of the rocking ocean waves and blocks of ice from the sea.
And lastly, three different scales of chevron lace are used to create the delicate lace "Hantsuki" shawl.
