Brio, by Berroco
Brio is hands-down one of Argyle's most popular yarns for winter! Each brilliantly dyed colorway of this thick-and-thin wool blend is infused with glittering metallic strands that are completely soft to the touch. The bright, playful colors put a smile on our face as the weather gets greyer and bleaker, and the little tinsely sparkle is a touch of magic in the darkness of early-falling evenings. Brio is like fireworks in the snow. |
Here's the newest sample we've made here at Argyle, knit from Brio in the aptly named color "Riot." It's the reversible Quick Slip Cowl, knit in the easy-to-learn linen stitch. We customized a bit to add 50% to the length, using two skeins for a cowl that can wrap around twice for extra warmth. It's done in no time, using US size 15 needles. It's easy to see why this is the favorite color- It doesn't apologize for having fun! Get inspired by all the projects folks on Ravelry have made with this color right here. |
Below are a few patterns from Berroco's own design team made just for Brio:
First is the Stratton. This easy hooded scarf is worked in a simple textured rib, with the hood picked up and knit after completing the scarf.
Next is the Goshen hat. Worked from the earflaps up, this cute hat is knit seamlessly in an easy ridged stitch pattern.
Here's Brio in the Caley: A dramatic ribbed cowl tops off this easy stockinette tunic with short raglan sleeves.
And lastly, there's the Emmett mitt. A simple rib stitch guarantees these cozy fingerless gloves will knit up quickly and easily.

I don't normally feel the need to do this, but the look of Brio worked up is so distinctive I wanted to show a closeup below of each of these patterns so you can better see the sparkle of the metallic fiber and how bold the think-and-thin variation on the weight is. Pretty cool!
