Moonshine, by Juniper Moon
There’s nothing illicit about loving the high-proof softness of this white lightning! We've just brought in the newest colors of Moonshine. Gain the feel of a silky alpaca halo while keeping the crisp stitch definition you’ve worked so hard on.
Normally, when deciding the best fiber content for a project, you make a choice:
Go with a crisp wool that lets you see cleanly the sharp stitch work and cabled construction, or, go with the softer luxury of an alpaca, knowing that its fibrous halo will obscure and cloud any complex details in the pattern.
Each of the samples above are on view in Argyle right now. The vest is the "Calliope," the shawl is the "Anthe," and the cowl is a mock cable of Esther's devising.
Dyed in glowing, deeply saturated colors, the silk content absorbs the dye more lightly than the other fibers, lending a subtle heathered effect, and it shimmers luminously as it moves. Spun in a slightly varied single ply, Moonshine works up into a fabric that's surprisingly substantial for a worsted weight. |
Below are more garments featuring Moonshine from Juniper Moon's own design team. From left to right we have the Tilly Cardigan, the Dreamland pullover, the Luna, and the Heathers pullover.
This is one of those yarns that's great to work with and wear no matter what time of year it is.
