Zooey Aran by Juniper Moon Farm
Juniper Moon has released several yarns that are wonderful for summer (I'm thinking Neve and Findley) and Zooey Aran is no exception.
Although you don’t normally hear the words “aran” and “summer” in the same sentence, this yarn is actually perfect for warm weather: drapey, breezy, and extra soft. It’s subtle thick-and-thin texture and natural, earthy color palette combine to make you think instantly of a day at the beach.
Modern and sophisticated, this blend of linen and cotton can also go right in the washing machine. Here it is in an open, lacework, easy-breathing cardigan Gretna in the color "Toasted Coconut."
Below at left is a sample of Zooey Aran that we have right here at Argyle.
Called the "Coastal Shawl," our version is knit up out of two balls of the color "Sun Dance." Two the right is the same shawl worked up in the color "Rose Garden." You can see how the linen content gives it such great stitch definition.

More examples from Juniper Moon's own design team: The Rio Salado, a shawl knit round and round in a circle (in "Sun Dance" again); the Wave, an open, decorative cowl in the color Cardamom; the Seaside, a chic tunic in "Grape Ice" and "White Pepper"; and the Baisha, a colorwork scarf knit from "Sel Gris" and "Toasted Coconut."
When the nights are too hot to want the warm feel of wool across your lap or between your fingers, you don't have to give up on something you love. Give a cool, breathable linen and cotton blend like Zooey Aran a chance.
